Madden Contiued

NFC Overview: Unlike the AFC, the good players have bad teams in the NFC so it will be a lot closer from top to bottom here. You could actually have a team to make it to the NFC Championship game from the ladder since at least two solid teams won't even make the Wild Card. Once again the odds will be on the website.

NFC East: Hmmm. Do I go with the obvious choices in Other Brad and Neil, or do I go with a sleeper pick in the Cowboys. The Cowboys D is really good, but I still don't think Jon will be able to compete against the Skins and Eagles. Other Brad is at a different level than Neil, so I will have to take the Skins to win this division.

NFC North: Wow another tough division. Derek, Seth, Bibbs, and Curr. Bibbs has the best team and Curr will have some Packer pride, but once again this division will come down to Seth and Derek. I will give this one to Seth since the Lions are a little tougher than the Bears.

NFC South: Will Bruce join Other Brad as the only Two Division Winners? I think so with the Ed factor and Jeff being a new member to the league. Dude will try again with the Bucs, but he has yet to show us anything over the past 10 years of Madden.

NFC West: Keith will roll to his first division crown with a lack of competition and the best team of the bunch. Expect Keith to get 10 wins out of Seattle.

Playoffs:
1. Washington (East)
2. Seattle (West)
3. Detroit (North)
4. New Orleans (South)

Wild Cards: Chicago and Philly

Round 1: Chicago over New Orleans and Detroit over Philly, eventhough I don't think that Philly will make it out of the ladder.
Round 2: Detroit over Seattle and Chicago over Washington.
NFC Championship: Detroit over Chicago.

Superbowl: Raiders over Detroit- 24-17.

i'm so pissed at my madden skills over the past few years. i finally figured out why....the last two years have been more simulation than game. i've always simply enjoyed playing smash-mouth, last to score type of games. and now that you have to do real football shit like read defences, precision passing and assessing your personnel matchups and adjust accordingly, i don't compete as well. i haven't taken the time to get into this and probably won't ever do so. i posted something on my own blog this morning that alludes to my priorities these days that made me realize this.

add to that the fact that even when watching real football, i watch it to appreciate the skill and athleticism on display, i've never really gotten into the coaching strategies and chess match like moves that make the game just as interesting. i enjoy it, but i don't thrive on it so my madden game suffers because i've never cared enough to fully comprehend it in real football, let alone incorporate it into my video game playing.

oh hey - so i married an axe murderer in on hbo right now. can i add that to the list of underrated movies from f&j a couple weeks back? not great, but still a movie i'm compelled to watch everytime i see its on.

and another thing - feel free to underestimate the pack and the texans this year based on my rant/whine above. it will make it that much more easy to crush you.
