The Myth of Marriage
Life is what you make of it. There is no script and nothing has been decided. Often times, those that have decided to not get married and have children are told they are selfish or immature. I am here to dispel this myth. Marriage is a failed institution. Every man I know that is married, is miserable and they implore me to not make the same mistake, for my chains will be longer. These are good people who love their families, but they would rather be single. For a short time after the marriage ceremony, they hold off and put on a good face, but after awhile, they breakdown.
We have been spoonfed throughout childhood by our families that marriage is the next logical step of life. I beg to differ. Marriage is a nightmare for a man. It strips a man of his dignity, pride and ambition. He is left broken. First you are pressured by your mom, her mom and ofcourse her to buy a ridiculously expensive rock. Then the planning. You spend a year or more tasting cake, looking at halls and trying on clothes. You spend all your time standing by while your fiance' plans everything. Sure, you once in awhile ask the wedding coordinator a question, just so you don't have to hear your fiance' complain about your apparent lack of interest in the wedding. Not that she really cares anyway. This is her day. She is so focused on this day, that nothing else matters to her. During the wedding planning, you begin to see the real woman. She makes all the final decisions. You sit there with your concrete smile all the while screaming inside of your own head. You are living in a nightmare that will never end. But, no one knows. Sure maybe your dad sees it, but he will not dare broach the subject. That would be too dangerous. That might bring back his old nightmares that he has since learned to temper with scotch and a healthy dose of cheating. Next, comes the bachelor's party. This party is not for you! It's for your so-called friends. This is where they make jokes about how your life is over and you will never have sex with another woman. These are your friends? That is not funny. It is cruel and horrible. If they were real friends, they would realize that you are hurting and try to help you do what you want to do anyway. Then they pay off some whore to have sex with you. Great friends, they pay money to have you cheat on your future wife. They should be buying you a plane ticket. Next is the day you have been dreading. You have a good time, drink a lot and stuff your face and you keep telling yourself, this is what a man does and the right thing to do. But you are lying to yourself. THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE YOUR DESTINY! Next comes life. This is the part where you work your ass off to take care of your family, your wife feels unappreciated, she starts using sex as power, you start cheating, you get caught and lose everything and if you had kids, they are indelibly scarred. So next time you start accusing the single man of being a child, remember, he made the decision to save all those hearts from being broken.

what a sad view of marriage you have.
every piece of garbage example you list is absolutely ridiculous. a marriage and wedding is what you make of it.
you sound as though you've been steamrolled by some bitch and you're whining for a lack of not knowing what to do.
My girlfriend says that's totally fucked, like so basically that's what I think.
Thank god I'm free.
